ABOUT

Hello,

Granate is the creative studio of Adriana Baranska-Aragao—graphic designer, motion artist, and analogue experimentalist.
With a background in fine art and healthcare, I bring a deeply human lens to visual storytelling. My work blends tactile, hand-crafted processes with motion-led digital experiences—creating bold, sensory identities for cultural brands, publications, and those seeking to disrupt quietly.
Whether working in print, screen, or space, my focus is on intentional design—rooted in research, led by emotion, and refined through detail. I collaborate with clients and studios who value slow craft, meaningful storytelling, and the unexpected tension between tradition
and technology.

Currently based in Manchester.

The Challenge:
Establish a personal studio identity and digital presence that authentically reflects my unconventional path into design—merging analogue roots with forward-thinking motion and digital practices. The brand needed to function across portfolio, print, and product, while standing out in a saturated creative market.

The Approach:
Granate (meaning “pomegranate” and “grenade” in several languages) became the conceptual foundation—a name rooted in heritage, symbolism, and contradiction. I crafted a visual identity blending fluid ink textures, glitch motion, and bold, serif-sans typography to convey both craftsmanship and edge. The website was built to showcase motion and print work equally, using interactive previews, editorial-style layouts, and intentional pacing to guide
the viewer.
The voice of Granate is intentionally human: honest, slightly poetic, but never over-explained. The branding system is modular enough to adapt across digital platforms, print assets, and future products (e.g., limited-run posters, cards, zines).

The Outcome:
Granate has become the central anchor for my design practice—visually distinct and emotionally resonant. It positions me within the design industry as a hybrid thinker, blending traditional sensibilities with emerging digital tools. The site functions not just as a portfolio, but as an evolving space for experimentation, self-initiated projects, and
future collaborations.
